An on-campus job is a great opportunity for Chatham students to make some extra cash under employers that understand the demand of college life. As we reach the end of the academic year at Chatham, new job openings become available as students graduate, transfer or leave their current positions.
Here are a handful of new employment opportunities students can apply for during the 2025-2026 academic year.
Grounds Department student employee
The Grounds Department and Arboretum is looking to hire students for $11 an hour to assist with maintenance on the Shadyside campus. A great job for any outdoorsy Chatham student, this onsite position is open to all areas of study and is work-study eligible. No prior experience needed.
The deadline to apply is 6 a.m. on April 18, 2025.
Student assistant in the Office of Career Development
Hiring at $11 per hour, the Office of Career Development is looking for a student to work about part time to assist in providing professional development resources to the wider Chatham student body. As a student assistant, you can gain skills in organization, leadership and communication. This hybrid position is open to students from all disciplines. To apply, students will be asked to submit a resume and a cover letter addressed to Director of Career Development Hannah Su Hepler on Handshake.
Applications open 6 a.m. on May 1, 2025, and the deadline to apply is June 3, 2025.
Student publicist 2025-2026 academic school year
For students with prior knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, the Office of Marketing & Communications is hiring a student publicist for next academic year. As a student publicist, students can gain hands-on technical graphic design experience, creating flyers, banners, lawn signs, table tents, Instagram graphics and other promotional material for the University. The position pays $11 an hour, working for about 8 hours a week (assignment dependent). The work is primarily remote with the exception of a one hour in-person meeting every other week.
The deadline to apply is 6 a.m. on Sept. 19, 2025.
Sustainable agriculture apprentice
Any student looking for employment at Eden Hall should consider applying to become a sustainable agriculture apprentice. For $12 an hour, this apprenticeship teaches the ins and outs of the farm such as organic vegetable production, orchard management and other seasonal agricultural tasks. Shifts run Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Students can work as little as two shifts and as many as 19 hours a week. Though primarily geared towards Falk School of Sustainability & Environment students, anyone can apply.
