An unknown person entered and stole items from several vehicles parked on Chatham University’s lower campus in the early morning Sept. 24, according to Interim Police Chief Michael Colberg and the Department of Public Safety.
University police are “actively investigating these incidents and increasing patrols and visibility” in the parking lots where the thefts occurred, according to the crime alert Colberg sent via email on Sept. 26 to the Chatham community. Public Safety is reviewing camera footage and coordinating with Pittsburgh Police as part of this investigation.
Colberg encourages residential students to take precautionary measures such as locking their vehicles, removing valuables, closing windows when leaving the vehicle and parking near campus buildings or security cameras when possible.
Students are to call Chatham University Public Safety at 412-365-1111 if they see anything suspicious or have any information about these incidents.
