After losing a game against Thiel University, Chatham University’s men’s basketball team looked to rebuild momentum against fellow PAC school Geneva on Wednesday, Jan. 15.
The game began with even play between both schools. The Cougars began to ease into a comfortable lead after a 3 pointer from Malik Potter ‘21.
The Golden Tornadoes crept close to Chatham’s lead with a well-placed 3 pointer to make the score 33-26, but this would be the last points they scored in the first half.
Chatham ended the half with a score of 40-26.
As they transitioned into the second half, the Cougars brought their lead up to 26 points, the highest of the game.
Chatham needed both their experienced players and new guys to clinch a win, with Potter leading the team with 20 points and first-year student Marcos Cintron contributing 18 points of his own.
The Cougars pulled away and secured a 79-69 win and hope to continue this form against their next opponent Saint Vincent College on Wednesday, Jan. 22.
