A fun fact about Sara Bauknecht: Her first professional media gig was as a production intern for “The Montel Williams Show.” (Bring on the ‘90s/early 2000s daytime talk show nostalgia!) These days, she has the privilege and pleasure of being the faculty adviser of the Communiqué and an assistant professor of communications at Chatham University, where she teaches journalism, public relations and communication studies (and, of course, lots of Associated Press style). Beyond the classroom, she’s a professional journalist and strategic communication consultant. She’s passionate about building bridges between the professional media industry and Chatham’s student journalists and believes that the newsroom and the classroom are among the greatest places in the world because both have the potential to promote creativity and the free flow of information and to spark change
