Chatham University’s men’s basketball team came out hot against local rival Carlow University on Nov. 20, starting the game with a 9–0 run in the first few minutes and holding out for a win.

Carlow’s Celtics didn’t make it easy for the Cougars to keep the lead, though. With the help of some Celtic turnovers and a three pointer by Stefan Rosich ’23, the Cougars finished the half with a 37–33 lead.

The Cougars didn’t have it easy in the second half due to a determined Celtic lineup. Carlow kept the score close, breaking down Chatham’s lead to only 1 point. It was unable to take the lead due to a strong Cougar defense.

Chatham relied on its upperclassmen to help push the team to the final buzzer. Will Sandherr ’20 led the Cougars in scoring, going 5/11 from the field and scoring 22 points. Sandherr had help from AJ Myers ’21 and Marcos Cintron ’23, who both put up double digits of their own.

Chatham held onto its lead and finished the game with a 82–74 victory over Carlow.
