Madison Stokes is a senior at Chatham University (unintentionally graduating in December) majoring in English with a minor in creative writing and journalism. She joined the Communiqué to use and improve her reporting skills and to be a voice for others on campus. Madison holds many positions on campus such as Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion within Chatham Student Government, a RISE mentor, a leader in Chatham Christian Fellowship and intern for the Humanities and Education Department on campus.

Since 2023, where her journalism journey began, Madison has written for the Pittsburgh Media Partnership, The Pittsburgh Independent, The Northside Chronicle, the Pittsburgh Black Media Federation, NEXTPittsburgh, Soul PITT Media, BlackPittsburgh.com, PennLive and TribLive reporting on topics like hyperlocal news, politics, lifestyle and arts & entertainment.

Madison is a passionate learner with a growth mindset inside and outside of the classroom. She has a heart to give back to her community. In her free time, Madison enjoys reading, writing and spending time with family. She was born and raised in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
