Chatham Student Government holds elections

By Clair Fink

Chatham Student Government (CSG), a long-standing organization on campus, is holding its annual election. Voting closes at 11:55 p.m. April 10.

Since each office is up for reelection, here are the positions that will be filled: class presidents, vice presidents, secretary, treasurer, student representatives (two each from the classes of ’20, ’21, ‘22), executive president, executive vice president, executive vice president of communications and vice president of finance.

This allows for six spots from each class. Positions with executive titles represent all of CSG and can be filled by students from ’20, ’21 and ’22 classes.

CSG is an integral part of the inner workings of campus. Meetings are open to students from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each Thursday in Woodland 103 so they can learn about committees, issues, guest speakers and other campus-related information. For example, there’s the Expanding Student Services (ESS) Committee, which works directly with the Public Safety Office and the shuttle service to resolve issues. There’s also the Campus Culture Committee (CCC) and the Communications and Engagement Committee (CEC), both of which work on projects to create better relationships between athletes and non-athletes and decrease the amount of paper used around campus, among other things.

Beyond the election, CSG is holding a textbook drive.

“There will be a boxes in the library, the commuter lounge and in the residence halls where people can drop off books from their classes that will get put in the library so people who have those classes can check them out,” said Abby Fisher, Class of 2020 President.

Log on to Moodle to vote before the polls close.
