Students and Faculty:
As many of you know, the Communiqué, Chatham’s student-run newspaper, has been in a transition period since this semester started. All of us on the editorial staff are new to our positions, and were chosen this year as opposed to at the end of last year.

We’ve been hard at work roughing out our schedule, making plans and decisions about print issues, deciding on our in-house style rules and getting a handle on the website. We’ve been editing articles, and we’re still getting a feel for how our editing process will work and how a story will travel from reporter to publication.
In the past few hours we’ve put up the first articles of the year, all of which showcase the skills of a writing staff we’re excited about and are already proud of. Because of our learning process many of these articles are out of date and about events from over a week ago. We apologize to both our writers and our readers for this shortcoming. However, we felt it would be a disservice to everyone not to publish them. They’re great stories, and we think they exemplify the type of stories we’ll publish in the future.
Thank you for staying with us as we put together this publication, a publication we hope to make a trusted staple on this campus. Look out for more articles from us very soon.
