Police Blotter: Incidents reported at Chatham University Jan. 20-30

Jan. 20 Officers were dispatched to the Chatham Apartments for the smell of marijuana. Upon arrival, officers checked the area and found no odor of marijuana.

Jan. 22 Officers responded to Chatham Eastside to unlock a car for a student who locked the keys in their vehicle. 

Jan. 22 Officers took a report for a suspicious person in the terrace parking Lot and placed it on file. 

Jan. 25 Officers responded to Graham Field for loud music. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the men’s lacrosse team was playing music during practice, and the music was turned down. 

Jan. 27 Officers responded to the field next to the Art & Design Center for a large group on the field. Officers found approximately 70 people on the field without prior permission. The group left the field without incident. 

Jan. 29 Officers were dispatched to the Terrace parking lot to assist a student with a dead battery. Officers got the vehicle started.

Jan. 30 An officer went into the Howe-Childs Gate House and noticed a strange smell possibly from the boiler room. Facilities were notified.

Other updates: Officers did seven medical transports to MedExpress or UPMC Shadyside Hospital. Officers also responded to one alarm and received lost property at the police station. If students have lost something, they should contact Chatham police at 412-365-1230.
