Gena Carter

Gena Carter, News Editor

Genevieve Carter ’21 is an environmental science major with a minor in journalism from Allison Park, Pennsylvania. Gena decided to come to Chatham for its sustainability commitments and proximity to home, but she missed the fun of writing for her high school paper. She began writing for the Communiqué in Fall 2019, took up a journalism minor, and currently is the paper’s News Section Editor. Gena and Editor-in-Chief Alice Crow oversee all articles in the News section, including series like CSG Briefs and COVID-19 updates. Gena previously wrote about the construction of Graham Field, the new dean for Chatham’s Falk School, and COVID-19 policies and guidelines, among other topics. She has a commitment to providing Chatham students with University news that is relevant and accurate. At the Communiqué, Gena loves learning about other student experiences and aspirations. In the future, Gena hopes to bridge the gap between the scientific community and the general population, through either science education or environmental journalism. Gena can be reached best at [email protected] or via Instagram @g.enaleigh.
